Terms of Use — TagLink
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the iOS application TagLink (“the App”) published by an independent developer (“the Developer”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What TagLink does
TagLink is an on-device assistant that helps you draft captions, alt-text, and hashtag suggestions for social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Threads, YouTube). The App uses your own OpenRouter API key to call AI models on your behalf. The App itself does not host AI models and does not run any backend service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Your account and API key
- TagLink has no user accounts. There is no signup, login, or profile.
- The App calls AI providers using an OpenRouter API key you provide. Your relationship with OpenRouter (and any upstream model provider) is governed by their own terms and pricing.
- You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential, for all usage and costs incurred under your key, and for complying with OpenRouter's and the upstream provider's policies.
4. AI-generated content
4.1 Nature of AI output
Output produced by TagLink (captions, alt-text, hashtags, brand-voice text, banned-tag warnings, suggested replacements) is generated by third-party AI models routed through OpenRouter. The output may be inaccurate, biased, out-of-date, or otherwise unsuitable for your context.
You are responsible for reviewing every result before publishing it.
4.2 Disclosure of AI use
When you publish content based on TagLink's output, you must comply with applicable AI-disclosure rules. In particular, the EU AI Act (Article 50, effective 2 August 2026) requires that AI-generated content be marked as such in many contexts. The App may surface “AI-assisted” disclosure suggestions to help, but compliance ultimately remains your responsibility.
4.3 Ownership of inputs and outputs
- You retain ownership of the text and images you input.
- As between you and the Developer, you own the output produced by the models, subject to the terms of OpenRouter and the upstream model provider.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your inputs do not infringe any third-party right.
4.4 Banned-tag database
The bundled banned-tag list is provided as a best-effort signal only. Platform policies change frequently. Absence of a tag from the list is not a guarantee that the tag is safe; presence in the list is not legal advice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Generate or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexual content involving minors, or violent in a way that violates applicable law;
- Produce content designed to deceive (impersonation, disinformation, deepfakes intended to harm) in violation of applicable law;
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party;
- Circumvent rate limits, safety filters, or platform policies of OpenRouter, upstream providers, or the destination social platform;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except to the extent permitted by applicable law;
- Use automated systems to interact with the App in ways that are not part of the App's intended user interface.
OpenRouter and the upstream model provider apply their own usage policies on top of these Terms. Violating their policies may result in your key being revoked by them, which is outside the Developer's control.
6. Fees and third-party charges
- The App itself is licensed via the Apple App Store; any price shown there is the price for downloading the App.
- AI generation costs are billed to you by OpenRouter under your account. TagLink only displays an estimate of token cost; the authoritative number comes from OpenRouter.
- The Developer does not receive, process, or refund any OpenRouter charges.
7. Privacy
Use of the App is also subject to the TagLink Privacy Policy, which describes how data flows on your device and to OpenRouter: Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. The Developer does not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free or operate without interruption;
- AI-generated output will be accurate, fit for a particular purpose, or free from policy violations;
- Banned-tag scans will catch every problematic tag;
- Cost estimates will match OpenRouter's actual billing.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or reputation, whether foreseeable or not, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App or AI output, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event will the Developer's aggregate liability under these Terms exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to download the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 10.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, statutory consumer rights or liability for willful misconduct).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Developer harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (a) content you generate, store, or publish using the App; (b) your violation of these Terms or applicable law; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including OpenRouter's terms and any upstream model provider's terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App and uninstall it from your device at any time. iOS will remove the App container, including the Keychain entry holding your API key. The Developer may, in its sole discretion, discontinue the App, push breaking updates, or terminate these Terms at any time, including by removing the App from the App Store. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.
12. App Store terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and the Developer, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Any product warranty claims and intellectual-property claims as described in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions are handled in accordance with that document. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Changes
The Developer may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, by an in-App notice. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction of the Developer's primary residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply where applicable. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-court rules in your country of residence.
